Product Description

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (Wiener Philharmoniker) is an Austrian symphony orchestra that was founded in 1842. It is one of the most famous orchestras in Austria. The 'Wiener Philharmoniker' has for many years also been the name of a special Austrian €1.5 Euro coin. This special coin has a weight of one Troy Ounce which is 31.1 grams and is a popular unit of weight in precious metals. On the face of the coin are a number of instruments played by the musicians of the Vienna Philharmonic, such as violins, a bass, a harp, a horn and a clarinet. At the top of the coin is the name 'Wiener Philharmoniker'. On the reverse of the coin the organ which is located in the golden hall of the Vienna Music Society is depicted. Above this is the country name 'Republik Oesterreich' (Republic of Austria). At the bottom is the text '1 Unze Feinsilber' (1 Troy Ounce pure silver) along with the year 2021. The value indication of 1.50 Euro is also shown. This is the Christmas edition of the 'Wiener Philharmoniker' coin - it is packed in an attractive blister.
