Austria 10 Euro 2018 Raphael the Healing-Angel Silver BU

This Silver Coin is the third coin from the series Austrian coins that have as their theme the Heavenly Message. This third coin has the theme of the Angel Raphael. The story of the Angel Raphael can be read in the Bible in the book of Tobias. Tobias is travelling with the Angel Raphael without his knowledge. From the river Tigris (in present-day Iraq) a large fish emerges that Tobias wants to catch. The Angel Raphael says to Tobias: æCatch the fish!Æ Tobias succeeds and they eat the fish. The viscera of the fish are preserved and appear to be medicinal, therefore the Angel Raphael is considered the Healing Angel, the Angel who can make sick people better again. On the face of the coin is a pilgrim staff. Furthermore, a fish is depicted. These are surrounded by the letter R from Raphael. At the top of the coin is the country name æRepublik OesterreichÆ (Republic of Austria) and at the bottom of the coin the value indication of 10 Euro is shown, above which is the year 2018. On the reverse of the coin the you ng Angel Raphael is portrayed with long wavy hair, and in his hand is his pilgrim's staff. He tilts his arm and his hand makes a blessing gesture. RaphaelÆs wings are made of Peacock feathers. The coin is presented in a luxurious package.
