Product Description
Knights existed in one of the most bloody times in our history, namely the Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages it was the most normal thing to conquer land. Land that was fertile and strategic was especially popular. Knights often came from noble families. Fully dressed in armour they were deployed on horseback to protect or conquer land. 500 years ago the archduke of Austria, Maximilian I killed the Roman emperor. He then married Maria of Burgundy in 1459, making him not only Duke of Burgundy but also a member of the Knighthood called the Golden Fleece. Only 30 people belonged to this noble elite. For his own sake Maximilian I expelled the Jews from the Austrian provinces of Styria and Carinthia. He was not always the gentle man as he was described in much that was written about him. On the left of the face of the coin you is a portrait of Maximilian I with a lance in his hand. On the right is his coloured coat of arms held by a lion. The country name Republik Osterreich along with the year 2019 are also shown. The value indication of 10 Euro is also displayed. On the reverse of the coin a knight on a horse in full gallop is depicted. The knight, dressed in full armour with the lance pointing forwards, is participating in a show where spectators are watching from the stands. The quality of the coin is Silver (Ag) Proof. The coin is of the highest quality and has been struck with a special stamp and packaged with the greatest care. The coin is presented in a luxury package and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
