Austria 10 Euro 2022 Silver BU 'De Goudsbloem' (Marigold). The Marigold (Calendula Officinalis) is a plant with beautiful yellow or orange flowers. The Marigold originates from Asia and Southern Europe. The somewhat stubby leaves give the plant a graceful appearance. In addition to being a graceful plant the Marigold is also a medicinal plant! Thanks to its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic effect, the plant is often seen as the wound healer. The Marigold is often used for minor burns, cuts, bruises and there are few plants that are so versatile and effective in treating a wide variety of ailments.
