2023 Austria 10 Euro coin 'Forget-me-not' - Copper UNC. This beautiful flower gets its name from the Greek word (Myosotis) which means 'mouse ear'. These small, beautiful blue flowers with their yellow centres are found in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. According to a beautiful story from the Middle Ages, a knight fell from his horse into the ditch, because his armour was too heavy the knight drowned, in front of his beloved wife. Just before he was completely submerged he plucked a flower and threw it at her, saying 'forget-me-not'. It was also believed in the past that these flowers protected against witches. On the face of the coin a 'forget-me-not' flower is depicted in full bloom. The reverse of the coin depicts a young woman wearing a wreath of flowers made of forget-me-nots on her long hair. Furthermore, the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Austria) is displayed together with the value of 10 Euro. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
