Austria 20 Euro 2021 The Serpent Creator

Austria is issuing a new series of 20 Euro coins with the theme 'Eyes of the Continents'. The first coin in this series has as its subject 'The Rainbow Snake'. The rainbow snake is a non-poisonous snake that mainly hides in water. They can burrow in the sand and wait a long time for prey to pass by. In almost all regions of Australia they are considered by the Aboriginal people to be a creator who shaped mountains and valleys and created the water that flows in rivers. On the face of the coin the snake's head is shown, its tongue protruding with its eye most prominent. The eye is made of a genuine Swarovski crystal! On the reverse of the coin the rainbow snake is depicted just before striking its prey. Furthermore, the value indication of 20 Euro, the country of issue, REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH (Austria), and the year of issue, 2021, are shown. This Austrian 20 Euro coin is the first of a series of five coins. The coin is presented in a beautiful case and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
