Product Description
This is the first coin of the series of Austrian coins that have the theme 'Dinosaurs'. The subject of this first coin is the Spinosaurus. The Spinosaurus was a carnivore that lived in the area that is today's Egypt. The Spinosaurus had a skull that looked like a crocodile, and had a huge 'sail' on its spine. It is thought that the Spinosaurus could run so fast that the 'sail' served as a kind of balance. With a length between fourteen and eighteen metres it was certainly not a small dinosaur! The Spinosaurus had relatively short hind legs but huge claws, which enabled the Spinosaurus to thrive on wet soil and watery areas. On the face of the coin is an image of the Spinosaurus. The name SPINOSAURUS together with the year of issue, 2019, are also shown. The reverse side of this series of coins will always be the same, i.e. a picture of the dinosaurs of the series. Furthermore, in an arc, the country name 'Republik Österreich' (Republic of Austria) is shown along with the value denoting 3 Euro. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
