Austria 3 Euro 2020 Ankylosaurus

Austria has issued the fourth 3 Euro coin with the theme 'Dinosaurs'. The theme of this 2020 Austrian 3 Euro coin is the 'Ankylosaurus'. The Ankylosaurus was a four-legged tank! The back, hips and neck were protected by a corset made of bone plates, bumps and spikes. With a length of almost 10 metres and a weight of over 3,600 kilos, this was by no means easy prey. The Ankylosaurus was a herbivore which ate about 75 kilos of grass and other plants per day, and spent most of the day doing this. At the end of its armoured tail was a club that weighed about 50 kilos. With a hard swipe of this flexible club the bones of its natural enemies could be easily broken. On the face of the coin the Ankylosaurus is depicted eating ferns and grass, in the background is a Spinosaurus. The reverse side of this series of coins is always the same, i.e. an image of the dinosaurs included in this series. Furthermore, the country name Republik Österreich (Republic of Austria) and the value indication of 3 Euro are shown encircling these images. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
