Austria 3 Euro 2020 T-Rex

Austria has issued the fifth 3 Euro coin with the theme 'Dinosaurs'. The theme of this 2020 Austrian 3 Euro coin is the T-Rex (Tyrannosaurus Rex). Millions of years ago the T-Rex was the largest and most dangerous predator that lived on planet Earth. With a length of more than 14 metres and a height of 5 metres, it was guaranteed that an encounter with this dinosaur would be terrifying. The T-REX was a carnivore that ate over 400 kilos of meat a day and had teeth that were over 12 inches long! With a single bite the T-Rex was able to tear as much as 250 kilos of meat from its prey - almost impossible to comprehend. However, the T-REX was not fast and could only reach a speed of 30 kilometres per hour. His long tail kept him balanced during his relatively slow sprints. The face of the coin shows the T-Rex in attack position, with its mouth wide open. In the background is a Parasaurolophus grazing. Furthermore, his name 'TYRANNOSAURUS REX' (T-REX) and the year of issue, 2020, are displayed. The reverse of this series of coins is always the same, i.e. images of the dinosaurs of the series. Furthermore, the country name 'Republik Österreich' (Republic of Austria) and the value indication of 3 Euro are shown encircling these images. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
