Austria 5 Euro 2022 'Democracy' - Copper. A strong democracy thrives on discourse. Opinions may differ but all opinions together make a democracy. Fundamental rights, enshrined in the constitution, freedom of expression and social freedom guarantee the participation of an individual in a democratic society. This special 5 Euro coin is made from the roof of the old parliament building! As it were, a piece of democracy is acquired! On the face of the coin are several overlapping heads representing the nation as a whole. In the background is a part of the Austrian Parliament building, where the copper was used. Furthermore, the text 'IHR RECHT GEHT VOM VOLK AUS' (Justice comes from the people) and the text 'OSTERREICH IST EINE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK' (Austria is a democratic republic) are displayed. The year of issue, 2022, is also shown. On the reverse of the coin are the nine coats of arms of the Austrian provinces, encircled by the country name 'Republik Österreich', with the value indication of 5 Euro in the centre.
