Austria 5 Euro 2023 'Lucky'. Everyone can use luck, especially after the turbulent years 2020 and 2021. One of Austria's most popular lucky symbols is the pig. Pork is eaten with great pleasure, especially in Europe and East Asia. In the past, the pig literally stood for sufficient food. Especially in the Middle Ages, when there was not always enough to eat, you were literally lucky if you still had at least one pig. The typical Austrian proverb for happiness 'Schwein gehabt' refers both literally and figuratively to the pig.
