Product Description
The 2019 BU set of Austria has as its theme 825 years of Viennese coins. The first Viennese coins were minted in the year 1194. In that year King Richard 1 The Lionheart - was released after a large sum of ransom was paid to Duke Leopold. Duke Leopold V used this ransom to produce Silver coins, the Viennese Pfenning. Now, 825 years later, the Austrian Mint still strikes all Austrian coins. This with the latest technology and with the use of a lot of craftsmanship. On the front of the BU set of Austria 2019, a Minter from the Middle Ages can be seen together with an old coin press. Right next to the coin press Leopold V is depicted alongside a lady who is using sound to test the coins. In the background is the current building of the Austrian Mint. In this 2019 Austrian BU set the complete series of 2019 Euro coins from Austria, the 1 cent coin up to and including the 2 euro coin, are packaged. The quality of the coins is "Handgehoben" this means that the coins in this beautiful 2019 BU set of Austria are packed with the greatest care.
