In 1920, the Summer Olympics were held in Antwerp, Belgium. This 7th edition of the Summer Olympics was held more than a year after the end of the 1st World War held (11th November, 1918). Because of the great impact that the 1st World War on Belgium it was decided to have the Summer Olympics held here. During these Summer Olympics 29 countries participated with a total of 2670 participants. During these Summer Olympics the first Olympic Oath was taken by Victor Boin, the Olympic Flag with the five rings was raised for the first time, and the first pigeons released symbolizing Peace. On the face of the coin the statue 'the discus thrower of Myron of Eleutherae' is depicted. Above this image is the text 'ANTWERP' and the year 1920. At the bottom of the coin in the Greek language is the text 'VII OLYMPIADE' (7th Olympic Games). On the reverse of the coin is an image of the map of Europe. The country name Belgium is shown on the right-hand side in its three official languages 'BELGIE - BELGIQUE - BELGIEN' (Dutch, French and German). On the left the value indication of 2,5 Euro is shown with the year of issue, 2020, below. The coin is mounted in a Coincard.
