Belgium 2 Euro 2023 'Art Nouveau' French Coincard

In 2023 Belgium has issued a special 2 Euro coin with the theme 'Art Nouveau'. This coin reflects on the Art Nouveau art movement, also known as 'Jugendstil'. It is an art movement that became known in Belgium in the year 1893. Art Nouveau often uses asymmetrical compositions that are often incorporated into furniture, jewellery and buildings. In 1893 it was Victor Horta who completed the Tessel House in the style of 'Art Nouveau'. It was the starting signal for this art movement which continued to flourish until the early 1920s. On the obverse of the coin, in large print, is the text 'ART NOUVEAU' below which is a facade detail of the 'Huis van Eetvelde' - a wall mosaic made by Victor Horta. Furthermore, the year of issue 2023 is shown. This 2023 Belgian 2 Euro coin 'Art Nouveau' is mounted in a French Coincard. The text on the front of the Coincard is written in French and German whilst the text on the back is written in Dutch and English.
