Belgium 5 Euro 2022 'Marsupilami'. Marsupilami is a fictional animal created by André Franquin. He appears in several animated series and first appeared in Spirou and the heirs in 1952. Spirou and Fantasio (Robbedoes en Kwabbernoot) find Marsupilami in Palombia and decide to take him to Europe. Marsupilami with its long tail and yellow black-spotted fur uses its tail as its third hand. It likes fruit, nuts and fish and its most famous call is 'Houba Houba'. Marsupilami appeared for the first time 70 years ago, which is why the Belgian Mint has decided to issue this special commemorative 5 Euro coin. On the face of the coin Marsupilami is depicted alongside the text '70 Jaar / Ans'. On the reverse of the coin a map of Europe, the value indication of 5 Euro and the year of issue, 2022, are shown. The coin is mounted in an attractive Coincard and has an edition of only 7,500 copies.
