Product Description
2021 Finland 20 Euro coin '100 Years of Finnish Compulsory Education'. Compulsory education was introduced in Finland in 1921. All children between the ages of 7 and 13 had to receive an education. School and education are considered very important in Finland and, as a result, Finland has grown into a contemporary modern country. Today Finland has a compulsory education of 9 years because the age has been extended from 13 to 16. This means that all children in Finland from 7 years old to 16 years of age must attend school. In Finland all teachers are university educated and each school is autonomous. Becoming a teacher in Finland is very difficult - only 8% of students are admitted to teacher training. On the face of the coin two semi-abstract children are depicted imagining walking to school and one semi-abstract child is imagining going to school on a scooter. Furthermore, the country name SUOMI FINLAND and the year of issue, 2021, are shown. On the reverse of the coin is a rooster, the letters ABC, the value indication of 20 Euro, and WWW. The coin is presented in a beautiful packaging and is limited to 1,643 copies.
