Finland 5 Euro 2018 Porvoo Proof

Finland is issuing a series of nine different special 5 Euro coins which have Finnish National Landscapes as their theme. The National Landscapes of Finland symbolize Finnish culture, history and nature. The Finnish population was allowed to choose which landscapes are most beautiful in Finland. As number seven they chose the old town of Porvoo with its river Porvonjooki and its valley. Porvoo (in Swedish Borga) has about 50,000 inhabitants of which 40% are Swedish. On the face of the coin is an image of the old town of Porvoo with the river Porvoonjoki. The Cathedral of Porvoo is also clearly visible. In this Lutheran Cathedral Swedish is the official language! The reverse of this series of coins is the same being the map of Finland with a dot showing the location of the relevant landscape. In this case the dot is at the bottom of the map indicating where Porvoo can be found in Finland. On the left of the map of Finland the value indication of 5 Euro is shown. In the outer ring of the coin are the year 2018 and the country name Suomi (Finnish) and Finland (Swedish). The quality of this coin is Proof.
