France BU 2023

This is the BU set of France 2023. The 'Marianne' is depicted on the 1, 2 & 5 cent coins. The æsowerÆ is shown on the 10, 20 & 50 cent coins. France has adapted its coin design for both the 1 Euro coin and the 2 Euro coin. It is 20 years ago that the Euro was introduced, and, after 14 years, France holds again the position of President of the Council of the European Union. These two major events led France to change their coin design which is based on the old design. In both designs the tree of life is depicted in front of a broad shield. The tree of life consists of an olive branch, which symbolizes peace, and an oak branch which stands for permanence. Furthermore, the motto of France 'Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité' (Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood) is displayed. All coins feature the Mint Mark - the Cornucopia (the Horn of Plenty) and Joaquin Jimenez's Mint Mark (a square with the initials J.J. and two rhinoceros horns). Finally, at the bottom of the coin the country is indicated by the letters 'RF' (Répub lique Française). The quality of the coins is BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) and the coins are presented in an attractive turquoise packaging.
