Product Description

Since 2006 the Germany has issued a series of coins in which a Bundesland (federal state) is central. A representative building or monument of the relevant Bundesland is shown on these special 2 Euro coins. The order of the federal states depends on the presidency of the Federal Council. In 2006, the Bundesland Schleswig Holstein held the Presidency of the Federal Council. In the year 2019, Schleswig Holstein is once again the chairman of the Bundesrat and the series must be suspended. In the year 2019 it was decided to depict an alternative building of this special 2 Euro coin. In the year 2020 the series will continue with Brandenburg, 2021 is the turn of Sachsen-Anhalt. The series will be completed in 2022 with the Bundesland Thuringia. On the 2019 coin the front of the building of the Bundesrat (Federal Council) is depicted. This building is situated in Berlin. At the top of the coin is the year 2019 whilst at the bottom of the coin is the word Bundesrat (Federal Council). Below this is the letter D, indicating the country name Deutschland (Germany). The mint location letter is shown on the upper left of the coin. This series of coins consists of the coins from Germanys 5 mints which are indicated by different letters: A = Berlin, D = Munich, F = Stuttgart, G = Karlsruhe and J = Hamburg. At the bottom of the coin is the letter D, the abbreviation of Germany (Deutschland). This letter D should not be confused with the letter indicating the different mints. The coins are in the quality BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) which in German is called Stempelglanz. The coins are mounted in a beautiful coincard on which brief information about the Bundesrat and the mints is given.
