Product Description

Germany 2 Euro 2021 Cathedral of Magdeburg - Saxony-Anhalt. Annually, since 2006, Germany has issued a special 2 Euro coin representing a Bundesland (province), depicting an important object of that Bundesland. In the year 2021 the theme is 'Magdeburg Cathedral' located in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Saxony-Anhalt is located in the centre of Germany, between Hanover, Berlin and Leipzig. The province covers an area of more than 20,000 sq.km. and has more than 2.2 million inhabitants. The capital of this province is Magdeburg. Construction of this Gothic Cathedral started in 1209 and was completed in 1520 - thus, it took more than three centuries to build this colossal structure. The face of the coin depicts Magdeburg Cathedral below which is the name of the federal state displayed in German 'Sachsen-Anhalt'. At the bottom of the coin is the letter 'D' which indicates the country name Deutschland (Germany). At the top of the coin is the year 2021. The German coins are struck in five different mints, each indicated by a different mint letter - A = Berlin, D = Munich, F = Stuttgart, G = Karlsruhe and J = Hamburg. The quality of the coins is UNC (Uncirculated).
