Germany 2 Euro 2022 'Erasmus' Proof. No fewer than 19 countries are issuing this 2022 special 2 Euro coin 'Erasmus'. This common coin, with the theme 'The Erasmus Programme', will be issued by (almost) all Euro-zone countries on 1st July 2022. This coin was designed by Joaquin Jimenez. The aim of the Erasmus programme is to promote (international) student exchanges for study or internships. More than 3,000 colleges and universities are registered as participants, and millions of students have already made use of the Erasmus programme. The Erasmus programme gives students the opportunity to live and learn in a foreign country, raising the European mentality enormously. On the face of the coin is an image of the Dutch writer Desiderius Erasmus, writing a book. Furthermore, the number '35' is shown and all colleges and universities are (imaginarily) linked to each other via lines. Finally, the years 1987 - 2022 are shown and the text 'ERASMUS PROGRAMME' is displayed. German coins are struck in five different mints which are indicated by a letter stamped on the coins û A = Berlin, D = Munich, F = Stuttgart, G = Karlsruhe and J = Hamburg. This mint letter is shown at the bottom of the coin. The quality of the coins is Proof - the highest possible quality. In German this is called Spiegelglanz (Shining like a mirror). The coins are presented in a luxury package.
