Germany 20 Euro 2019 "100 Years Constitution of Weimar"

The Weimar Constitution (1919) was an important step in the creation of what is now Germany, because it created Germany as a republic. This German republic was called the Weimar Republic. The Weimar Constitution defined the tasks of the government and the fundamental rights of the citizens were laid down. Women were given the right to vote, a referendum was built in and the monarchy of Germany became a thing of the past. Through a fair justice system all Germans had the same say during the elections and they could choose which party they would vote for. This Republican Constitution was in force between 1919 and 1933. It was 100 years ago that this Constitution came into force which is why Germany has decided to issue this 20 Euro coin. On the face of the coin there are four texts in a circle shape. The outer text is - '100 Jahre Weimarker Reichsverfassung' (100 year Weimar Constitution). The second ring of text says - 'Article 1. Das Deutsche Reich ist eine Republik' (Article 1. Germany is a Republic). The third ring says - 'Die Staatsgewalt geht vom Volke aus' (The state power comes from the people). Finally, the years 1919 and 2019 are displayed in the fourth ring. In the centre of the coin the German flag is depicted in full colour. On the reverse of the coin is the text 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' (Federal Republic of Germany). The value indication of 20 Euro is also displayed. The famous German eagle is centred on the reverse of the coin. The coin is made of Sterling Silver, which is printed in German (silber 925) beneath the eagle The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
