Germany 20 Euro 2019 Alexander von Humboldt

Due to his birth 250 years ago Germany has decided to issue a 20 Euro coin with the subject 'Alexander von Humboldt' (Friedrich Heinrich Alexander Freiherr von Humboldt). Alexander von Humboldt, born on September 14, 1769, was an explorer and a so-called nature explorer. Alexander von Humboldt found everything about nature interesting, from living animals to extinct animals. Alexander von Humboldt has seen a lot of the world and sailed to Central America, South America, the Canary Islands, Venezuela and Cuba, among others. In Cuba he came to the conclusion that volcanic rock was created by volcanism - it used to be thought that the sea created all rock. He mapped much of the world (geographically) and boatmen were full of praise for this man. On the face of the coin Alexander von Humboldt is portrayed in profile, with his name shown below. At the top is the text '250 Geburtstag (250 birthday)'. To the left of the coin are some words in different languages - Speech, Culture and Cosmology. Furthermore, the sail ing route of Alexander von Humboldt is shown. On the left of the reverse of the coin are the 12 stars of Europe. To the right of centre is the German eagle. The value indication of 20 euro with and the year 2019 are displayed at the top. At the bottom the Silver content (silber 925) and the country name, BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND, (Federal Republic of Germany) are shown. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
