Germany 20 Euro 2021 Sophie Scholl. 2021 German 20 Euro 'Sophie Scholl'. The German woman Sophie Scholl was a resistance fighter in World War II - she studied philosophy and biology in Munich. She hated the way Germany was governed and started distributing pamphlets for the resistance group Weiße Rose (White Rose). She wanted to stop the violence in the world and in Germany. However, Sophie and her brother Hans were caught on 18th February, 1943 and sentenced to death. They were beheaded by a guillotine. Her life story was made into a film in 2005 and shows what a brave woman Sophie Scholl was. On the face of the coin is an image of Sophie Scholl with the text '100th GEBURTSTAG SOPHIE SCHOLL' (100th birthday Sophie Scholl). On the reverse of the coin is the text 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' (Federal Republic of Germany) and the value indication of 20 Euro. The famous German eagle is centred on the coin. The coin is made of Sterling Silver (Ag 925), which is printed under the eagle (Silber 925). The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
