Germany 20 Euro 2023 'Lucky Hans' (Hans Im Glück). Germany has issued a 20 Euro coin with the theme 'Lucky Hans', a story written by the Brothers Grimm. Hans works for his boss for seven years and receives a piece of gold as big as his head as wages. He first trades his gold nugget for a horse and later he trades his horse for a cow. However, this cow does not give milk and after drinking a glass of beer and eating something delicious in the inn, he decides to exchange this cow for a pig. In the end, the pig is traded for a goose, and moments later, he trades the goose for a whetstone. Now he can grind his own stones and his next gold nugget. On the face of the coin Lucky Hans is depicted walking. The texts 'GRIMMS MÄRCHEN' (Brothers Grimm) and 'HANS IM GLÜCK' (Lucky Hans) are also shown. On the reverse of the coin is the text 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' (Federal Republic of Germany), together with the value indication of 20 Euro and the year of issue, 2023. The well-known German eagle is centred on the coin. The coin is made of Sterling Silver (Ag 925) which is indicated below the eagle (Silber 925). The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
