Product Description

This is the third coin from the German five-part series of 5 Euro coins that deal with the Climate Zones of the Earth. This series of coins, with a coloured ring, will be issued in the years 2017 to 2021. The colours of the rings are - 2017 = red, 2018 = orange, 2019 = green, 2020 = turquoise and 2021 = purple. The theme of the 2019 coin is the Temperate Zone and it has a green ring. The temperate zone, also referred to as the warm temperate climate, is located in multiple areas throughout the Earth. The Netherlands is an example of a temperate zone. It is a humid climate with mild temperatures all year round. There are clear seasons, but the difference between winters and summers is not extreme. On the face of the coin a rabbit is depicted sitting under an overhanging branch in a hilly area. The coloured ring fits perfectly with the colour of the Temperate Zone, namely green. At the bottom of the coin is the text 'GEMÄSSIGTE ZONE' (Temperate Zone). The reverse side of this series of coins is the same. In the centre is the Federal Eagle above which is the letter indicating in which mint the coin was struck. Germany has five different mints which are indicated by the letter of the mint and the colour of the green rings. At the bottom of the coin is the year 2019. In the outer ring of the coin is the country name Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Federal Republic of Germany). The value indication of 5 Euro is shown with the 12 stars of Europe unevenly distributed around it. The Green ring, which is made from a Polymer material, is immediately recognizable. The edge lettering of the coin is KLIMAZONEN DER ERDE (Climate zones of the Earth). This is the complete series that contains the coins from all five mints, i.e. A, D, F, G and J. All coins are packed in printed coin holders.
