Germany 5 Euro 2022 'Insect kingdom'. Germany is going to issue a new series of 5 Euro coins with the theme 'The wonderful world of insects'. This series consists of a total of 9 different coins, of which this is the first. The insect kingdom is critical to the earth. Without insects we would not survive and within 10 - 20 years global ecological Armageddon would take place. Insects pollinate plants, flowers and crops. Honeybees make a major contribution to our ecosystem, something that is hardly considered. Almost 80% of crop pollination is done by bees and bumblebees! During this pollination, pollen grains from the anthers are transferred to the stigma of the pistil, allowing plants to develop fruits and seeds. On the face of the coin bees, butterflies and other insects are depicted flying over beautifully coloured flowers. The text 'INSEKTENREICH' (insect kingdom) is also shown. On the reverse of the coin is the text 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' (Federal Republic of Germany). The value indication of 5 Euro and the year of issue, 2022, are also shown. The well-known German eagle is centred on the coin which is packaged in a printed coin holder.
