Greece 2 Euro 2017 Philippi Coincard

2000 years ago Philippi was an important city on the road from Rome to Istanbul, located in ancient Macedonia. The apostle Paul visited this city, he was imprisoned there where he wrote his famous letter to the Philippians. In the 14th century Philippi was destroyed by the Ottomans. Philippi was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016.
