Greece 2 Euro 2020 '100 Years Incorporation of Thrace' Coincard

The theme of the 2 Euro of Greece 2020 is '100 years anniversary of the annexation of Thrace'. Thrace is located in the northeast of Greece and borders both Bulgaria and Turkey. It is a relatively poor area with many cotton and tobacco plantations. A number of well-known nature reserves of Thrace are - the Nestos Delta (Keramoti) and the Dadia Forest. Thrace borders no less than three seas, namely, the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. In addition to the dazzling ecological beauties that these seas bring, it used to be a huge strategic location which has known many rulers. The reunification of Thrace with Greece, 100 years ago, is remembered with this commemorative coin. On the face of the coin a 2500 year old coin from Thrace, depicting a Griffin, is depicted. Furthermore, written in Greek are the texts '100 years after the incorporation of Thrace' and 'Greek Republic 2020'. This coin, as described above, is mounted in a beautiful Coincard of which only 5,000 were produced.
