2022 Greece 2 Euro Coin '200 Years Greek Constitution' in the quality Proof. It is 200 years ago that Greece adopted the Greek Constitution at the First National Assembly of Epidaurus. This created what is now Greece. The Greek state was not recognized by the major powers at this time, but decided that the Greek state was under Ottoman Sovereignty. The Ottoman Empire refused this and this led to a major naval battle on 20th October, 1822. The Greeks won this naval battle and not much later Greece declared its independence. To commemorate the adoption of the Greek Constitution 200 years ago, Greece has decided to issue a special 2 Euro coin.
