Greece 2 Euro 2022 ´Erasmus´ - Coincard. No less than 19 countries are issuing this special 2 Euro coin 'Erasmus'! This common coin, with the theme 'the Erasmus programme', will be issued by (almost) all countries on 1st July 2022. This coin was designed by Joaquin Jimenez. The Erasmus programme aims to promote student exchanges (internationally) for study or internship as much as possible. More than 3,000 colleges and universities are registered as participants and millions of students have already made use of the Erasmus programme. The Erasmus programme gives students the opportunity to live and learn in a foreign country, which raises the European mentality enormously. On the face of the coin 'Desiderius Erasmus', a Dutch author, is depicted writing a book. Furthermore, the number 35 is shown. All Colleges and Universities are (imaginatively) linked to each other via lines. Finally, the years 1987 - 2022 are shown, and the name of the programme ERASMUS PROGRAMME is displayed together with the country name of Greece. The coin is mounted in an attractive coincard on which further information about the Erasmus coin is briefly displayed.
