Greece 5 Euro 2020 Myrtis

Greece has issued a 5 Euro coin with the theme 'Myrtis'. Myrtis is the name given by the archaeologists to the 11-year-old girl, whose remains were discovered in a mass grave. The girl lived in Greece about 2500 years ago! It is almost unheard of to find Greek remains from that period as most people from that time were cremated. On the face of the coin is an image of the reconstructed Myrtis. Her name is shown in Greek along with the year of issue, 2020. On the reverse of the coin are a number of differently coloured wavy lines. These indicate the DNA of Myrtis, which they used to reconstruct her. The value indication of 5 Euro is also displayed. The coin is presented in a beautiful cassette and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
