Greece 5 Euro 2020 Theophilos

Theophilos was a Greek painter born in Varia in 1870, he was a painter of Hellenistic art, mainly painting arts related to Greek antiquity. He painted many houses and walls in the surroundings of Pelion, it is striking that many of his works can still be admired. Theophilos painted for little, a plate of food or a glass of wine was often enough for him, he was a true folk painter who meant a lot to Greek society. On the face of the coin is a painting by Theophilos, called 'Erotokritos and Aretousa', this painting is in the Theophilos museum in Mytilene.
