Benelux BU 2021

The theme of the 2021 Benelux set is '20 years of farewell to the national currency'. In 2001 it was still possible to spend Dutch Guilders, Belgian Francs and Luxembourg Francs. As is well-known these means of payment were replaced by the Euro in the year 2002. This Benelux set contains information about the banknotes and coins that were used in the past! Nowadays the Dutch youth no longer knows 'dubbeltjes' (10 cents), kwartjes (25 cents), stuivers (5 cents) or Rijksdaalders (2.5 guilders)! No fewer than 24 coins are packed in this 2021 Benelux set which are the complete series of Euro coins from Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Several 2021 Euro coins of Belgium and the Netherlands will not come into loose circulation. The Belgian Euro coins are minted in the Netherlands which is shown by the Mercury sign that is depicted next to the year 2021. An exclusive medal is also included in this set. The edition of this set is only 5,000 copies and each copy has a unique number.
