Product Description
5th May, 1945 was an important day in Dutch history. It marked the end of the 2nd World War and the Netherlands was liberated after years of occupation. Large parts of the Netherlands were liberated before 5th May, 1945, but we always celebrate this important event on the fixed day, Liberation Day. Since 5th May, 1945 the Dutch have realized that they are living in freedom again and that we are jointly responsible for guaranteeing this freedom. Freedom not only for the current generation, but also for the following generations! On Liberation Day there are many markets, flea markets, festivals and all kinds of other activities where the nation is coloured in Orange to celebrate the fact that we are free. On the obverse of the coin is the text '75 jaar vrijheid' (75 years freedom) with the numbers 7 and 5 written in ribbon form. Furthermore, the year of issue 2020, and the value indication of 5 Euro are displayed. The Dutch mint marks are also shown. On the reverse of the coin King Willem-Alexander is depicted, again using ribbon form. Additionally, the text 'Willem-Alexander Koning der Nederlanden' is shown. This coin as described, is presented in the standard Dutch first-day envelope.
