Ireland 2 Euro 2022 'Erasmus'. No fewer than 19 countries are issuing this 2022 special 2 Euro coin 'Erasmus'. This common coin, with the theme 'The Erasmus Programme', will be issued by (almost) all Euro-zone countries on 1st July 2022. This coin was designed by Joaquin Jimenez. The aim of the Erasmus programme is to promote (international) student exchanges for study or internships. More than 3,000 colleges and universities are registered as participants, and millions of students have already made use of the Erasmus programme. The Erasmus programme gives students the opportunity to live and learn in a foreign country, raising the European mentality enormously. On the face of the coin is an image of the Dutch writer Desiderius Erasmus, writing a book. Furthermore, the number '35' is shown and all colleges and universities are (imaginarily) linked to each other via lines. Finally, the years 1987 - 2022 are shown and the text 'ERASMUS PROGRAMME' is displayed. This coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
