Ireland BU 2021. This 2021 Ireland BU set has as its theme 'The Native Honey Bee'. Every plant and animal fulfils its role on this planet, creating and maintaining our fragile ecosystem. Unfortunately, it is known that the ecosystem is rapidly deteriorating and that many animals are becoming extinct and plants are disappearing from this beautiful planet. The 2021 Irish BU set focuses on the native honey bee. Honey bees make a major contribution to our ecosystem - something that is hardly thought about. Almost 80% of crop pollination is done by honey bees and bumblebees. During this pollination, pollen grains from the anthers are transferred to the stigma of the pistil, allowing plants to develop fruits and seeds. The 2021 Irish BU set contains the complete series of Euro coins i.e. the 2021 Irish 1 cent coin up to and including the normal 2021 Irish 2 Euro coin. The edition of this BU set is only 5,000 copies, which means that worldwide only 5,000 collectors can complete a collection.
