The Duomo of Milan (Duomo Santa Maria Nascente), also known as the Cathedral of Milan, is the largest Roman Catholic Cathedral in Italy, making it the second largest Cathedral in the world. The cathedral is in the centre of Milan and attracts many millions of visitors every year. Unique to this cathedral is that one can even enter the roof! The construction of this colossal structure started in 1386 and was completed nearly 600 years later in 1950. The cathedral consists of many dozens of turrets and if three statues are visited every day, after a year not even half of the statues have been viewed! The cathedral contains thousands of images and many beautiful items which are hundreds of years old. The Duomo of Milan is no less than 92 metres wide and 157 metres high. From the roof of the cathedral, in clear weather, the Alps are visible! The face of the coin shows Milan Cathedral in its full glory. At the bottom of the coin is the country name REPUBBLICA ITALIANA (Republic of Italy). On the reverse of the coin is a detail of the parsonage, this masterpiece was made in the time of the Renaissance! In this detail are the name 'Milano' (Milan) and the value indication of 10 Euro. In an arc, from left to right, is the text 'ITALIA DELLE ARTI' (The art of Italy). The year 2019 is shown on the right and the letter 'R' (Mint of Rome) is shown on the left.
