Italy 2 Euro 2020 The Fire Department Coincard

Italy has issued a 2 Euro coin with 'The Fire Department' as its subject. In the Italian language the Italian firefighters are called the 'Corpo nazionale dei vigili del fuoco'. The Italian fire brigade, as it is known today, was established on 28th February 1939. These firefighters fight fires, help people in need and assist with accidents. In addition, they are also called up in all sorts of other national emergencies. The Italian fire brigade has been around for more than 80 years. On this special 2020 Italian 2 Euro coin the logo of the Italian fire brigade is depicted. Encircling the logo is the text 'Corpo nazionale dei vigili del fuoco' (The National Fire Department). The letters 'RI' stand for Repubblica Italiana (Republic of Italy) and the letter 'R' indicates the mint of Rome. On the right is the year of issue, 2020.
