Italy 5 Euro 2020 Telethon Foundation

A telethon is a word combining the words 'television' and 'marathon'. A telethon is a fundraiser broadcast on live television that can sometimes last for days. With a telethon money is collected for disasters or for good causes. Research institutions are often sponsored so that they can achieve important results for the future. The Italian 'Fondazione telethon' (telethon foundation) was founded 30 years ago, which is why it was decided to issue this special 5 Euro coin. On the face of the coin the logo of Italian Telethon is shown coloured. Coloured molecules are also shown because the 'Fondazione telethon' has raised a lot of money for making medicines. Around the outside of the coin is the text 'REPUBBLICA ITALIANA' (Republic of Italy). On the reverse of the coin are seven people of various ages who are linked hand in hand, this represents the solidarity of the telethon. Furthermore, the text '30 ANNI DI RICERCA' (30 years of research) and the years 1990 - 2020 are shown at the top of the coin. At the bottom of the coin is the value indication of 5 Euro. The coin is presented in a beautiful blue blister package.
