Italy 5 Euro 2021 'Passito and Sicilian Cannoli'. Italy is issuing a series of 5 Euro coins with the theme of Italian food and drink. The third coin in this series is dedicated to 'Passito' and 'Sicilian Cannoli'. The Sicilian Cannoli originates from Palermo, they are crispy biscuit rolls filled with sweet ricotta and various pieces of chocolate. These Sicilian Cannoli were originally made during Carnival, but are now indispensable! Passito, also known as straw wine, is a type of wine made from dried grapes. These grapes are often dried on straw, hence the name - Straw wine. This wine is known for its high alcohol percentage and is often drunk with dessert. Passito and Sicilian Cannoli is a perfect combination for dessert! On the face of the coin two different Sicilian Cannoli's are depicted along with a glass of Passito. Furthermore, the country name, REPUBBLICA ITALIANA (Italy), and the island name of SICILIA (Sicily) are shown. On the reverse of the coin are elements of the Roman temple of Concordia, a woman's head with three curved legs (also called Trinacria), an almond branch and the value indication of 5 Euro. The coin is mounted in a beautiful Coincard which is itself packed in an attractive blister.
