Latvia 5 Euro 2018 My Latvia

Latvia has issued a very special 5 Euro coin in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Latvia. A competition was organized in which all children from Latvia could participate to come up with a coin with the theme 100 Years Latvia. The contest was won by the 10-year-old Elizabete Kandere. On her drawing, which is on the face of the coin, a cheerfully shining sun with sunbeams is illustrated. The drawing radiates optimism. Within the sunbeams is the text æSaules Muzu LatvijaiÆ (Let Latvia live and bloom forever). Centred on the reverse of the coin is the coat of arms of Latvia with, directly below it, the year 2018. At the bottom of the coin is the value indication of 5 Euro. At the top of the coin the text "Latvijas Republika" (Republic of Latvia) is printed. The coin is presented in a luxury package and is delivered with a certificate.
