Product Description
Latvia has issued a 5 Euro coin dedicated to freedom fights. When the 1st World War was over, this meant no freedom for Latvia. Latvia was declared an independent state on November 18, 1918, but their war was not yet over. There was a bloody struggle in Latvia between 1918 and 1920. The struggle of the Latvian nation for its freedom, independence and state in 1918-1920 ensured that the Latvian people still have their own state in 2019. A stylized march of freedom fighters is depicted on the face of the coin. In the foreground a soldier says goodbye to his wife. In an arc at the top right is the text 'Brivibas cinas' (freedom battles). The country name LATVIJA (Latvia) and the dates 1918-1920 are shown, in an arc, to the bottom right of the coin. The reverse of the coin shows the red and white flag of Latvia breaking through the barriers. The value indication of 5 Euro is displayed, as is the year of issue 2019. The coin is presented in a beautiful cassette.
