Latvia 5 Euro 2022 'The Constitution of Latvia - Satversme'. Satversme is seen as the fundamental law of Latvia. It is the oldest constitution of Eastern and Central Europe that is still in force. It was adopted by the Latvian people on 15th February, 1922. The word Satversme was coined by Atis Kronvalds who was one of the leaders of the Latvian National Movement. The thoughts and aspirations of the founders of the Latvian state have become the words of power that enable each generation to build a strong and sustainable democratic state governed by the rule of law. The coin consists of two connected circles that partially overlap each other. One of the lines is displayed in the colours of the Latvian flag (red, white, red). The year 1922 and the year of issue, 2022, are also displayed. Furthermore, the country name 'Latvijas Republikas' (Latvia) and the word 'Satversme' are shown. On the reverse the circles are connected by words that run in curved lines. These words reflect the basic values of Satversme.
