Latvia 5 Euro 2022 'Upward'. Latvia has issued a 5 Euro coin with the theme 'Upward'. This coin was issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Latvian Bank. It is a currency that should push Latvia upwards, a currency that reflects on technological and cultural developments and that does not look back, but only looks forward to the future and profiles itself accordingly. However, the Bank of Latvia wants to keep both cash and cashless money and reflect the developments in the coins that are issued. On the face of the coin an imaginary staircase leading to the sun is depicted, and the year of issue, 2022, is displayed. The reverse of the coin is coloured gold, representing the immense power of the sun. Furthermore, the text 'Latvijas Banka' (Bank of Latvia) and the value indication of 5 Euro are shown. The coin is presented in a beautiful case and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
