Luxembourg 2.5 Euro 2020 EXPO Dubai 2020

Luxembourg has issued a uniquely-shaped 2.5 Euro coin with the theme 'EXPO Dubai 2020'. This 35th World Exhibition was originally to have taken place on 20th October, 2020 until 21st April, 2021 but due to COVID-19 it has been postponed until 1st October, 2021 until 31st March, 2022. This Luxembourg issue was nevertheless issued in 2020, making it a very special and sought-after coin. During this World Exhibition the country often shows a structure or a beautiful work of art. In 1889 the Eiffel Tower was unveiled in Paris during the World's Fair, but let's wait until 2021 so that everything can be revealed. The theme of the EXPO Dubai 2021 will be 'Connecting minds, Creating the Future'. In total more than 200 countries will be present at this EXPO, which is likely to attract 25 million visitors. Each country has its own Pavilion where the country presents itself. The face of the coin depicts the pavilion that Luxembourg designed for the participation in the EXPO in Dubai. Below this is the text 'Luxembourg Pavilion', beneath which is the text 'EXPO 2020 Dubai'. At the top of the coin is the value indication of 2.50 Euro. On the reverse of the coin Grand Duke Henri is portrayed looking to the right. Furthermore, the country name 'Lëtzebuerg' and t he year 2020 are shown vertically. The coin is presented in a beautiful luxury package in which the coin is described in more detail. The circulation of this unique coin is 2,500 copies.
