Luxembourg 2 Euro 2019 Charlotte Coloured

In the year 2019 it is 100 years ago that Grand Duchess Charlotte took the throne of Luxembourg. After the legal male succession Adolphe became the successor of King William III in 1890 and was himself succeeded by William IV in 1905, a constitutional amendment was introduced allowing the succession by a woman possible. William IV was succeeded by Grand Duchess Adelaida who was in poor health and was urgently advised to give up the throne in 1919. She was succeeded by her younger sister Charlotte who, from 1919 to 1964, was Grand Duchess for no less than 45 years. This is the beautiful coloured version of the special €2 coin 'Grand Duchess Charlotte'. On the right side of the coin Grand Duchess Charlotte is portrayed. On the left side of the coin is an image of her grandson Henri, the current Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The French text "Centenaire de l'accencion au trône de la Grande-Duchesse Charlotte" (100 years of the ascension of the Grand Duchess of Charlotte) appears in an arc above these two portraits. The country name Luxembourg is shown in French because the other text is in French. The year 2019 is shown under the country name, with the mint mark, the Luxemburg Lion, to its left. To the right of the year is the Staff of Mercury. This shows that this coin was minted in the Netherlands. This coloured 2 Euro coin is packed in a coin capsule.
