Product Description
The grebe (Podiceps Cristatus) is a water bird that can be found throughout Europe. The grebe spends 95% of its time in the water. This is because its legs are quite far back on its body, which means that they cannot easily walk across the land. These water birds are found in large numbers, especially in large lakes and wetlands. The grebe has a brown-edged white face, the black line between the beak and the eyes is striking, which makes it easy to see that it is a grebe. A grebe is known for its long diving trips that can last up to a minute. They eat mainly fish but occasionally also insects and frogs. Nests are made on the waterfront and are actually permanently monitored. When both parents are hunting, they shield the eggs with branches and leaves! On the face of the coin a grebe is depicted at his favourite spot, namely in the water with some reeds to the left. The Latin name PODICEPS CRISTATUS is displayed at the top. The value indication of 5 Euro is shown at the bottom of the coin. On the reverse of the coin Grand Duke Henri is portrayed looking to the right. The country name 'Lëtzebuerg' (Luxembourg) and the year 2019 are shown vertically. The coin is presented in a beautiful luxury package where the coin is further described. The edition of this unique coin is only 3,000 copies!
