Product Description

The "Pont-Adolphe" (Adolf Bridge) is a well-known bridge in the city of Luxembourg. The bridge, which was opened in the year 1903, is named after Grand Duke Adolf. The Adolfsbrug connects the Gare district with the centre of Luxembourg. The bridge is a National symbol of Luxembourg and, when opened on 24 July 1903, was the largest stone arch bridge in the world! The bridge is almost 85 metres long, 42 metres high and almost 19 metres wide. The bridge has recently been renovated and is now also suitable for tram traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists are also safe to use the bridge. From the bridge one has a beautiful view over the city of Luxembourg. This coin, with a nominal value of 2.50 Euro, is in the form of a special curve-sided square. On the face of the coin the Adolfsbrug is depicted. At the top of the coin is the French text "Pont Adolfe" (Adolf Bridge) and at the bottom is the nominal value of 2.50 Euro. On the reverse of the coin Grand Duke Henri is portrayed looking to the right. The country name of Lux embourg is shown in the Luxembourg language (LËTZEBUERG) vertically. The year 2017 appears, also vertically, next to the country name. The issue of this coin is only 2,500 pieces and is presented in a luxury package.
