Malta 1 + 2 + 5 Cent 2020

These are the 1, 2 & 5 cent coins of Malta 2020. On these coins the altar of the 'Mnajdra' temple is depicted. The Mnajdra Temples are one of the best preserved megalithic temples in Malta. The temple actually consists of three temples that were built at different times û the northern temple from 3600 BC (now known as BCE - before the common era), the middle one around 3150 BC and the southern temple around 2500 BC. The shape of the temple resembles a cloverleaf with walls consisting of two parallel walls at two metres apart. Some of the megalithic limestone blocks are over 20 feet high! On the coin, below the image of the altar of the Mnajdra temple, is the country name Malta, below which is the year 2020. In the bottom star of the coin (at the 6 o'clock position) is the letter 'F' which indicates that these 2020 coins of Malta are struck in France.
